RACHAEL ROBINSON

Judge of Photographer of the Year and Social Influencer of the Year
Rachael & Catwalk IV drawing.jpg
Rachael has been working professionally within the equestrian industry for the past 3 years and has
developed a highly successful business drawing horses, animals and people all over the world.
Rachael began her journey when her daughter was 6 weeks old and was on maternity leave from her
career as a Zookeeper.

At the time she had undiagnosed post-natal depression and anxiety, she now openly discusses her
experiences with her following to help support others with their own struggles. Rachael has had no
formal training and has learnt how to draw the anatomical and behaviour correctness of animals
through practicing daily whilst caring for her young family.

Before starting her business in 2020, Rachael was a zookeeper at Colchester Zoo working with a
large variety of species including rescued horses from World Horse Welfare. Her career developed
her vast knowledge of animals with up-to-date husbandry and welfare guidelines across the
industry.

Rachael has been riding since the age of 9 (although sat on her first horse at the age 3) and began
working at riding schools before studying Equine Breeding at Myerscough college which landed her a
job as a professional groom role with a top showjumper on ponies. Although she didn’t continue her
career working with horses, she has kept within the industry owning her own, raising money for
charities and riding up until the present day. In 2023, Rachael completed the London Marathon for
her supported charity Cecil's Horse Sanctuary.

Rachael won the Equine service of the year award in 2022 and was shortlisted as a finalist for Digital
woman of the year 2022 and Wildlife Artist of the year 2022. She developed her own social media
following and regularly goes viral across multiple platforms. In December 2021, Rachael launched
her Patreon channel to start teaching others online how to draw realism with all the skills and
knowledge she has learnt over the past 3 years, and now offers a large library of tutorials to her
students on the platform.
