THE AWARDS PROCESS

We give regular updates on the awards through our Facebook and Instagram pages. Follow The Equestrian Business awards on both of these platforms to be kept informed of the latest news.

Our awards process for 2024 is as follows:

The Nomination Phase - 3rd January - 1st April 2024

Nominations open at 00:00 on 3rd January 2024. After having read about the award categories here, those who wish to nominate a business must complete a submission form via our website under the "Nominate" tab in the toolbar above. In order for a nomination to be valid, a category must be chosen, the nominee's name must be entered and a reason MUST be given as to why that business/professional deserves to be nominated for an award. Businesses may also complete a self-nomination outlining why they should be considered for the award. If you would like to hear from The Equestrian Business Awards and their sponsors in relation to news, exclusive equestrian offers and giveaways please ensure you tick the box to subscribe to the newsletter.

The nomination phase closes at 23:59 on 1st April 2024. The "Nominate" page and submission form will be removed from our webpage to ensure that this deadline is adhered to.

The Shortlisting Phase - 1st April - 30th May 2024

During this phase, nominations that have been entered are scrutinised based upon the quality of service that has been described and reasons that have been evidenced in the submission. We do not have a public voting phase as we feel that this would create an uneven playing field for those who are not tech savvy, do not use social media or find the prospect of self-promotion daunting. We want to be as inclusive as possible and give all nominees an equal opportunity.

Finalists will be announced via our Facebook page from 31st May 2024.

The Finalist Phase - 30th May - 30th November 2024.

Upon accepting the position as a finalist, The Equestrian Business Awards will send out the Finalist Pack. This gives more details about the judging process, the judges, how to make the most out of marketing the position as finalist, a media pack, information about the awards gala and a finalist application form. The finalist application form asks for more details about the individual and their business, evidence of any CPD, industry specific qualifications and certificates, membership of regulatory bodies or registration councils and references. This information will only be shared with the judges for the finalists' nominated category. The declaration must be signed stating that individuals understand and consent to this. Once we have received all of these back and The Equestrian Business Awards have formally  announced the finalists, businesses may make their own announcements and start marketing their position as a finalist.

From July to September, virtual interviews with be held with the judges and finalists. This is informal and aims to be as relaxed as possible so as to put finalists at ease and get the best from them. We will conduct mystery shops where possible, contact references and various other means of due diligence checks.

If finalists feel comfortable to, they may submit a short video of themselves at work or alternatively, photos, as these can be used for the category presentation video during the award ceremony. Tickets for the event will be available to purchase from June.

The Awards Ceremony - 30th November 2024

We have arranged for a physical awards ceremony on Saturday 30th November in Peterborough. This is a black tie event including 3 course dinner and entertainment, hosted by equestrian commentator Sam Gerrard-May. Sam has commentated at equestrian events including the Longines Global Champions Tour and Horse of the Year Show. He is also one of the judges for the Livery Yard of the Year award.
