Motor neurone disease is a life-shortening, progressive condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness and difficulty with movement, speech, and breathing. This condition has a 1 in 300 risk of developing in any person during a lifetime, and affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK. Currently, there is no cure, however the MND Association are working hard to find one. This would not be possible without the support of the public and organisations such as Equine Giveaways UK and HOYS.
